Knute Buehler Calls on Kate Brown: Release the School Rating Summary and Correspondence with Colt Gill

Representative Knute Buehler responded to Governor Kate Brown's decision to partially release the school rating information:

"Nothing short of full disclosure is good enough for Oregon parents and students. I'm glad they reversed their earlier decision to hide everything, but they are still withholding information that is important for parents. She continues to hide information from the public to protect her re-election campaign. Governor Brown should stop putting her political ambitions ahead of Oregon students and parents.

Governor Brown should also release all correspondence between her office and Colt Gill. The public deserves to know why this decision was made and who made it. Hiding important education information weeks before an election raises serious questions."

On Tuesday, The Oregonian reported that the Brown administration decided to hide the annual school ratings.

On Wednesday, after public criticism and discovering that Buehler was going to hold a press conference, the Brown Administration reversed its decision.
